How it works

IT’S SIMPLE (‘COS LIFE IS ALREADY HARD ENOUGH)

These are the steps to working with Zest, and sinking into your chair knowing that everything will be taken care of:

  • You’ll set an initial meeting. This is a fairly informal chat and will likely be with our founder and director, Amber. You don’t need to have anything prepared, except your Xero log ins, if you have them. We’ll talk about your business, your challenges and your goals – both personal and professional, if you like. If you know already what you’re after (tax or BAS assistance, payroll, full bookkeeping etc.) then by all means, bring this to the table.

We’ll then go away and do what we call a little ‘health check’ and get back in touch within 5 business days to suggest a few ways Zest can support you. This will include an in depth and tailored quote, so that you know exactly what the investment on your part will be.

  • Once we’ve decided we’re a match and you’ve signed an engagement form, we’ll get moving. The first port of business may be moving you across to our preferred platform, Xero.

Across the course of our work together, we can touch base when you need. If you feel you’d like a quarterly review, we can organise that. However, our general modus operandi is that each client gets allocated a day of the week (which helps map out our work flow) and unless we receive urgent communication from you, we’ll be working to keep your file up to date on that day each week.

  • You feel relieved, relaxed and supported! You’re able to stay in your zone of genius and focus on building the parts of the business that you’re most passionate about.

COASTAL EDGE PROJECTS

“Since working with Zest bookkeeping, Amber has helped me in a number of areas such as, a better understanding of the Xero program, including; setting up staged invoicing, and tracking job costings. Knowing that Amber is handling all my bookkeeping, has meant that I have more time to concentrate on other areas of my business which has ultimately led to significant business growth over the last 4 years.”

The tid bits

If you’re into credentials, then read on. Amber, the director of Zest, is a registered bookkeeper and BAS agent. Zest is a Dext Certified Partner, as well as Xero Gold Partner. This includes being Xero Payroll Certified and a Certified Xero Advisor. (This is just industry speak for, “we’re legit”.)

Zest’s other staff members, Sarah and Jodie, have their Certificate IV in Bookkeeping and Accounting, and are Xero Certified (ie. are Xero wizards).
We won’t bore you with too much more jargon, though. Below are all the different types of assistance Zest can offer.

Sometimes, life gives you lemons

…and when it happens in your business, it can be very stressful.

But when it feels impossible to manage debt and keep things afloat, it doesn’t have to mean the demise of a good idea. Having an expert look over your services or products, your pricing structure, and your strengths and weaknesses is an essential part of running a business. We all need advice sometimes, and taking stock in that pays the real dividends.

If you happen to be in a bit of a financial pickle or you’re thinking about packing it in, Zest can help you. We don’t judge or shame. We’ve seen it all before. We’ve been there.

Zest likes to build professional relationships based on trust. Let’s set a time to talk about your goals and business needs over the phone, on Zoom or Google Meet. This initial chat is 20 minutes free of charge and comes with no pressure to commit. Think of it like a first date, but one where talking about how much you earn isn’t considered a turn off.
